  24.             WUGate's services is  a  captive  account  providing  telnet
  25.             access  to 200 library and database systems on the Internet.
  26.             Included are connections to databases from the FDA, NASA and
  27.             many  universities.   Libraries  at  Boston  University, the
  28.             University of California System  and  others  offer  catalog
  29.             services  via  the  Internet and may be reached using WUGate
  30.             services. Several public libraries are also accessible along
  31.             with  bulletin  board  systems,  weather updates, campuswide
  32.             information systems and tools for  navigating  the  Internet
  33.             produced by many different organizations.

  35.             _N_e_t_w_o_r_k _A_c_c_e_s_s

  37.             WUGate  is  accessible   by   telnet   to   wugate.wustl.edu
  38.             (128.252.120.1).    Login   as   services,  no  password  is
  39.             required.

  41.             _W_h_o _C_a_n _U_s_e _W_U_G_a_t_e _S_e_r_v_i_c_e_s

  43.             Anyone may use WUGate services freely at any time.

  47.             Since many systems accessible by WUGate  services  are  auto
  48.             baud,  press return several times to get a response. Systems

  69.             Whenever possible, each WUGate  services  entry  includes  a
  70.             short description of the remote library/database system with
  71.             a contact name. Some systems  require  passwords  and  fees.
  72.             Contact the remote system for details.

  74.             All remote systems accessible via  WUGate  services  can  be
  75.             reached  directly  using  telnet.   To  telnet directly to a
  76.             remote system use the address given in the menu.
